Workshop mit Dr. Jonah I. Garde, University BC

The aim of our Events:

The idea of the salon is to create an opportunity where we could meet our peers across the lines of academic niche and rank that divide us. We hope to fashion a space where we can exchange and reflect on the more pragmatic side of being underrepresented in philosophy, share our experiences, learn from each other, and nurture a more close-knit network with those that face similar challenges in their academic day-to-day. We love to do so in our regular Stammtisch Format in an informal setting, as well as in more thematic events that usually take place at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Vienna.

 Reading Cycles

Starting in the winter semester 2020, we introduced the ‘UPsalon Reading Cycle’ – a space to read and discuss philosophical works dealing with gender, race, sexuality, or disability focusing on one theme per semester.

At the moment, none of our current members have capacity to organize such a reading circle – please get in touch if you would like to organize one!!!
